Newly ordained clergy visit Melmoth Prison

In the first week of June, Jane Argall of the eShowe based Phoenix Restorative Justice Programme conducted training in restorative justice with recently ordained clergy attending Post Ordination Training (POT).

They are pictured above visiting the Melmoth prison for a very meaningful and constructive conversation with staff and inmates to find out more about what clergy could be doing to support families of imprisoned persons in parishes and communities.

Collect for Prisoners
No person can be said to be righteousness in your sight, O God.
We commend to you those who are imprisoned for their wrongdoing and those who are wrongly imprisoned.
Help them to feel your presence near them at this time of hardship.
May they never be parted from you.
As you love us while we are yet sinners, help them also to feel your love.
Uphold their families during this time of separation, and bless those who minister to them.
This we ask for the sake of our merciful and righteous judge, Jesus Christ our Lord.
