Mothers Union Hall used for the first time!

Diocesan Family Day was celebrated in style, for we were able to worship under the roof of the new Mothers’ Union Hall and Skills Centre structure, which is still underway.

After the service on Our Lady Day in March, the Bishop, priests and the Mothers Union members went to pray on the site where the hall was going to be built. Three weeks later the work of putting up the steel structure started.  We serve God who listens and answers at the right time.

We  were overwhelmed by the number of people who came to worship on this beautiful Diocesan Family Day. The day was also marked by the presence of Mothers’ Union visitors, Talahole Haindongo from Namibia and Tiny Mngomezulu from Mpumalanga. They are MU workers who had come to benchmark their work against ours.

It has been our hope that when the hall is in use it would be able to accommodate all our Diocesan events, but we were surprised to see that it is not going to be big enough! For this reason we are now thinking  of extending the wings on both sides of the hall before we can think of erecting walls.

We therefore appeal to everyones heart to please donate towards the completion of this project. Although it is a Mothers Union baby, it will benefit everyone and we wish to be supported one way or another to see this dream realised.

Mothers Union President
