Bishop Dino Gabriel attends Lambeth Conference
Bishop Dino was one of 560 Anglican bishops from around the world who gatehred for the once-a-decade Lambeth Conference in Canterbury south east England.
The Conference opened with a challenge to world leaders by the Archbishop of Canterbury to keep their Millenium Development Goal promises on aid and development to the worlds poorest countries as failure to do so will lead to further starvation disease and death.
However the aim of the Conference was first and foremost that bishops become more confident in their Anglican identity and grow in energy and enthusiasm for their task of leading the work of mission in our Church.
Days were spent in reflection prayer discussion and fellowship in the context of a needy and divided world in which there is both deep fear and great suffering. In the Bible study and Indaba groups everyone was able to give full voice to their aspirations and concerns.
